People should stop demanding their rights and start taking up their responsibilities. Rights are the things one needs to exercise his responsibilities. This would turn everything right side up again.

I’m so flabbergasted by the so-called evidence in this video that we are heading towards totalitarianism in the West.

Seems to me totally unmoored to the reality I live.

Taxes are really slavery? What? They have gone up since when and by how much that it is actually slavery?

Or inflation is slavery?

Covid protocols?! (i for one started two businesses over covid)

Where is dissent not tolerated? What are you talking about?!

Where is your speech being censored? Seems to me I have more ability to publish my ideas than at any point in human history! Are you really upset about social media moderation rather than state tyranny?

What about how one side of the political aisle is actually talking about trashing our constitutional governance, being a dictator and talks about abusing minorities and immigrants like Hitler?

As far as I can tell the West is the free world. The ONLY free world. And there is only one side of the aisle that would like to tear down the democratic institutions we do have that underlie our rights.

There are plenty of nations in the world with actual rulers, not elected officials. Maybe you could recognize this.

Totally stains the rest of the excellent, nonpartisan work from Academy of Ideas.

I watched them treat us like Pavlov's dog.

They called it the dance and the hammer in fact.

It infuriated me! Unfortunately it deflated the other men in my community.

Hypnosis and animal behavior was what they pull out if the tool box.

Men are afraid of their shadows now.

They comply because of the fear of retribution.

They don't want to be uncomfortable so best conform or no sofa and Sunday afternoon sport games.

My biggest accomplishment was teaching my son to fear nothing other than God himself.

At least I now have one other man with a backbone beside me.

A young man that understand death is part of destiny and there is no escaping it.

Your # is up when it is up son. Fear nothing I would say. I should be dead 10xs now & getting older yet I am still here. There is something I must do son.

Hurry up and wait, the moment is coming.

Let's have fun in the mean time and to hell with these silver spoons trying to brain wash us and make us afraid.

They shoud afraid. We didn't talk fall for the dog bone, fear or free meal ticket.

The balance between the rulers and the ruled has always been difficult to maintain. Thus the checks and balances of the Constitution. The political left and right represent this struggle right now. The explanation of the ruling class having “psychological inflation”, assuming they embody the office bestowed upon them by society, and the “psychological deflation” of those ruled, projecting the powers they no longer have, onto the ruling class, is a very good explanation.

An interesting subject would be how to educate the populace on this very subject so that the balance is maintained.

Here in the West that is not actually falling into totalitarianism (wtf are they talking about?) we have elected officials, not rulers. They can be corrupt and can break the law, but we have actual rule of law, not by rulers fiat. Those elected officials generally have term limits and means of removal if they do their jobs unfaithfully.

Who specifically are the rulers he is talking about? Sounds more like a conspiracy theory than anything to do with the reality I live.

In the democratic West I inhabit, there are not any rulers and the very few slaveholders are criminals. Some people and groups have more power and some less, but no one gets to call nearly all the shots and anyone with a good idea and some financing can start a business that can become powerful with some elbow grease.

Discipline

Authority teaches faithfulness to the laws of Ideology;

That it is its right to instruct in authoritarian Utopia;

For people to comply with the legitimate promise of Ideology;

From birth its consumption as being a natural condition;

And in disciplinary matters it will be docility that is called for.
